Child Watch

Enjoy a good work out or period of relaxation while your children play, explore and learn with experienced, caring YMCA staff. Drop-in Child Watch is more than a babysitting service. During each child's stay Y staff members provide learning experiences in a fun environment. They are trained to teach your child fine and gross motor skills, socialization and how to make healthy choices.

Child Watch Guidelines

YMCA of Greenville & Hunt County Drop-In Child Watch accommodates ages 6 weeks and 7 years and is a free child watch service to our Y family members while they enjoy their work out. Parents must be on-site while children are in our care. There is a one and a half-hour limit for children 6 weeks to 24 months and a two-hour limit for children 25 months to 7 years of age.

Child Watch Hours of Operation

Monday - Thursday

8:00 am - 1:00 pm
4:30 pm - 8:00 pm

8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Parents should check with Child Watch to determine availability before dropping off their child. Space is allocated on a first-come, first-accepted basis. When the room is full, it may be necessary to wait until a space is vacated. Parents provide each child with diapers.

If, in the opinion of the staff, the Child Watch environment is an inappropriate placement for a child, the parent may be asked to withdraw the child. The Center reserves the right to cancel babysitting on any given day due to unavailability of staff. Child Watch may limit the number of children in the room for safety reasons. This is a non-licensed drop-in sitting program.
