Our Community

Welcome to the Y. We are an inclusive organization of men, women and children, welcoming of all faiths and backgrounds as members, participants, volunteers, staff and partners, joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

Our Areas of Focus

Nurturing the potential of every child and teen

Improving the nation's health and well-being

Giving back and providing support to our neighbors

Our Strength is in community

The Y is a nonprofit like no other. That's because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver, positive change.

We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That's why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors and partners to make sure that the entire community has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y is a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS and is a public charity. As such, we can leverage our resources with the support of community donations, foundation support, public/private partnerships and is eligible to receive government funding at the local, state and federal level.

Our Mission

The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.

Our Values
The Y was founded on Christian principles. We express those principles through our core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

CARING - Caring means to love others and to be sensitive to their well-being. Caring is represented by the color red, which is associated with a caring heart.

HONESTY - Honesty involves telling the truth and acting in such a way that you are worthy of trust. To be honest is to have integrity, to make sure your choices match your values. Honesty is represented by the color blue, which is associated with the expression true blue.

RESPECT - Respect involves treating others, as you would have them treat you. Respecting others means valuing the worth of every person, including yourself. It is represented by the color yellow, which is associated with the Golden Rule.

RESPONSIBILITY - Responsibility involves doing what is right, doing what you ought to do. Being responsible means being accountable for your behavior and obligations. Responsibility is represented by the color green, which is associated with the Earth and environmentalism.

The Y is committed to providing programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We make every effort to ensure that no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Click to read more about our financial assistance.
